Rancho San Diego is a Southern California community east of one of the most sought-after locations in the United States in San Diego. The area is a census-designated place with a population of 21,800 and was developed as sub divisions in the 1970s. Rancho San Diego was a Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County given by Gov. Pio Pico in 1845 to Juan Maria Osuna. The property was renamed Rancho San Diego in 1922.
Even though the area is not large, it is home to many famous people, including Gene Rodenberry who created “Star Trek.” The king of skateboarding Tony Hawk also has call Rancho San Diego home.
No other place has weather like Rancho San Diego. This area is not far from the Pacific Ocean and often is a pleasant 75 degrees. It also is near many winery and vineyard locations.
